Our organist is Douglas Franks, a longtime Bay Area church musician.  He has a Master's Degree in Organ Performance and has performed in recital and as an accompanist throughout the Bay Area over the years.  He has worked with various choral organizations, most recently the Chorus of City College of San Francisco and Masterworks Chorale.  He is currently on the faculty of the San Francisco Girls Chorus and is accompanist and vocal coach at the City College of San Francisco.  Douglas teaches piano and organ privately and is active in the American Guild of Organists.  He is Chair of the Special Projects Committee of the San Francisco AGO Chapter and Secretary of the Palo Alto/Peninsula AGO.  He is a prolific composer of organ hymn accompaniments.  Many of his organ settings and festive introductions to hymns have been published by Augsburg Fortress Press in a new multi-volume organ accompaniment edition for use with the new ELW hymnal.
