This class explores how Jesus of Nazareth is the center of Christian faith. Christians believe Jesus was true man and true God at on and the same time. The historical accuracies of the gospel have been questioned since the 18th century. This has led to numerous theories as to who Jesus really was. What was his purpose? Why did he come along at this specific time and what did he hope to accomplish? The gospel of Luke teaches us that Jesus came to find and claim the lost for God’s kingdom. He confronted the lies and distortions propagated by evil and sin – succumbing to the temptations of finding a god in an idol. By doing this, he made enemies of the people who had a vested interest in keeping the people in bondage.
