The Both-And Life: Stamped and Subservient

The Both-And Life: Stamped and Subservient

The 21st Sunday of Pentecost

This week, Pastor Lauren continues her sermon series highlighting the duplicity of our relationship with God. Our sermon text for this week is Matthew 22:15-22. In this text, the religious leaders try to trap Jesus with questions. They ask him if God’s people should pay taxes to an earthly tyrant like Ceasar. This raises the question, what do we owe to our government and leaders, and what do we owe to God?
