Baptized by The Holy Spirit
Summary: John the Baptist was the one who was appointed to announce the judgement day. He taught that God’s justice will be served, that we are all sinners, and that it is important that we examine our lives, repent, and work to improve ourselves as needed. How will God ensure that all are judged fairly? This is accomplished by the Holy Spirit as an agent of God’s justice. God offers us mercy and forgiveness, not judgement and damnation. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the receiving of the mercy of God. Through the Spirit, God gives us new lives and the capacity to have compassion for others.

The sermon “Baptized by the Holy Spirit” is SO POWERFUL! It really helped me to understand the miraculous way the gospel of John and the story of Jesus combined to give us the eternal gift of mercy and forgiveness. God sent Jesus to show us how we could live a life of love and gratitude by having Jesus take on our sins, instead of punishing us for them, and leave us free to follow His example of the way to live a life of love and freedom, and how to serve the needs of all we met.
