Defeating Fear and Doubt
Summary: Fear is the anticipation of a threat. It can be a good thing to help us avoid unnecessary problems or trials. Doubt can also be useful to help us to understand the truth of a given situation. When it comes to faith, fear and doubt can be debilitating. Throughout history, many civilizations used fear to help maintain their rule. The Roman practice of crucifixion was an example of this. There is one way to protect ourselves from being ruled by fear. The opposite of fear is the anticipation of joy. In the face of fear, people seek comfort and hope. For Christians, this is found in the resurrection of Christ. We cannot live out our Christian faith until we live in the hope of being reunited in the God’s kingdom for all eternity.
