Is There a Cure for Selfishness?

Is There a Cure for Selfishness?

Our Summer Sermons series on “Crucial Questions” concludes this week with Pastor Kevin’s message, “Can I Learn Humility?” (Luke 14:1, 7-14). Pride is the first and central sin – from eating the apple in the garden to our continued self-absorption. Humility is the solution, but the key is to place our focus elsewhere. Having curiosity about others, eschewing the never-ending race of self-promotion, recognizing the pride within us (the first and hardest step). These are just a few keys to learning how to “humble ourselves.” Jesus Christ, Lord of heaven and earth, was known to be “gentle and humble of heart.” This is the One we claim to follow!
