Lent 1 – Walking With God
Summary: Today’s bible readings tell of a stress or suffering that result from being obedient to God. In the story of Noah’s Ark, Noah went through a lot to be obedient to God. Like Noah, all of us are at times going to experience an overwhelming problem. Do we have an “ark” when the darkness descends? Do we walk with God? People who are close to God have a better ability to deal with problems. There are currently many in our country experiencing overwhelming problems. We are called to be strong enough to offer strength and compassion to those that are experiencing personal “floods”. The service we offer to others can help these people to avoid the temptations of despair. The season of Lent is about following Jesus through the hard time. We are reminded that “Man does not live by bread alone, but by the word of God.” Entrust your well being to the Word of God.
