Take Up Your Cross
The Second Sunday of Lent
Our gospel text for this second Sunday in Lent comes from the eighth chapter of Mark. After Peter confesses his belief that Jesus is the Messiah, Jesus tells his disciples for the first time what is to come. Peter does not yet understand the way of the cross that Jesus will travel.
