The Meaning of Repentance
The First Sunday in Lent
Our sermon for this first Sunday in Lent is titled “The Meaning of Repentance”. As Christians, we observe the season of Lent with reflection and repentance. The gospel text for today is taken from the 1st chapter of Mark. We learn that the Spirit that comes upon Jesus at his baptism sustains him when he is tested by Satan, so that he is able to proclaim the good news of God’s reign.
