The Sheep of His Fold
Good Shepherd Sunday
Today’s Gospel text is from John 10, verses 1-10. Jesus uses the image of sheep – very familiar to the people of his day, to make a point about spiritual leadership. The Lord is our shepherd. Shepherds will always, no matter what, look after their sheep. Jesus knows who are unruly, stubborn and evil, but despite all that, he truly cares, loves and stays by their side. When we recognize the Lord as our Savior and our shepherd, he will lead us to greener pastures, one after the other.
