What We Cannot Ignore

What We Cannot Ignore

Scripture contains very few pictures of life after death, but Jesus shares his point-of-view in a fascinating parable about the afterlife featuring a very wealthy and a very poor person. In Pastor Kevin’s message, “What We Cannot Ignore” (Luke 16:19-31), Jesus teaches a few terse facts. Our positions of privilege and disadvantage may be radically reversed in heaven. Jesus suggests the afterlife can be a state of great happiness or suffering. There are no second chances after death. The chasm between our present reality and heaven is insurmountable. The path to eternal happiness is repentance and faith in this life. These simple statements are in conflict with what some might call “popular belief.”
