Enough
The Tenth Sunday After Pentecost
This Sunday Pastor Lauren begins a new sermon series: “Stranger Things: the Kingdom of the Unexpected”, clearly a divine mystery! Her sermon this week is entitled “Enough!” based on the Gospel text from Matthew 14: 13-21. This text includes the well-known story of the feeding of the 5000 (men, women and children.) This passage illustrates abundant grace. The detail that everyone ate and was completely filled — with twelve leftover baskets — symbolizes that God’s provision in Jesus is never scarce; it overflows with abundance for all humanity.
