The Second Sunday in Lent

The sermon this Sunday is entitled: Getting Ready for the Kingdom and is based on the Gospel reading from Luke 13:31-35. In this text, Jesus is facing threats from Herod and the Pharisees, but he continues his ministry and unwavering commitment to his mission. Jesus expressed a lament for Jerusalem, which had rejected him and the prophets.

This passage invites Christians today to reflect on the meaning of Jesus’ life and death and on the role we play in the continuing mission of Jesus.
