Jesus: What Do We Make of Him?
Right in the middle of Mark’s Gospel, Jesus stops and asks the disciples a key question, “Who do you say that I am?” That is the question that all of Mark’s Gospel is asking. Mark begins his telling of the Jesus story by saying that he believes Jesus is the promised Messiah and the [only] Son of God (Mark 1:1). From that verse forward he simply (and elegantly) tells of the the events in Jesus’s life and is asking us to decide who we believe Jesus to be.
This Sunday, Pastor Kevin is going to tell us who he thinks Jesus is, and we’ll hear a bit of his life story. But in preparation for Sunday, just stop for a moment and ask yourself (and answer) the question, “Who is Jesus to you?” This is going to be an impactful message for us as a church family at Hope. You might even want to invite that skeptical friend or family member to come with you to church this Sunday.
