The Gift of Guidance

The Gift of Guidance

Good Shepherd Sunday

Today’s gospel text is from John 10:1-10. In this familiar passage Jesus describes himself as the “door” (or gate) of the sheep, stating that whoever enters through him will be saved and find nourishment. Jesus also distinguishes his mission from thieves who come to “steal, kill, and destroy,” stating that he came so people “may have life, and have it abundantly” (v. 10).
