When Words Are Not Enough

The 18th Sunday After Pentecost

This week, Pastor Lauren continues her sermon series on Community. Our Gospel text for this week is from Matthew 21:23-32. In this passage, Jesus begins teaching in the temple in Jerusalem. His authority is quested by the religious leaders, who are supposed to be in charge of the temple. Jesus turns our assumptions about greatness upside down: Christian community is not built around status or power, but around humility and service.
